Eutelsat and OroraTech Partner to Deploy Up to 96 Thermal Infrared Payloads

The reservation agreement covers 48 OroraTech thermal payloads on future Eutelsat LEO satellites, with an option for an additional 48 sensors in the future.

PARIS and MUNICH, Sept. 09, 2026 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Eutelsat and OroraTech today announced a strategic partnership to deploy OroraTech thermal infrared payloads across Eutelsat’s future Low Earth Orbit (LEO) infrastructure. Under the agreement, OroraTech has reserved capacity for 48 payloads, with an option for an additional 48 in the future, creating a pathway towards up to 96 thermal sensors on Eutelsat satellites.

The partnership brings together complementary French and German capabilities: Eutelsat’s large-scale European LEO infrastructure and OroraTech’s operational thermal intelligence technology, payloads, and analytics platform. It represents a major step toward a sovereign European thermal intelligence layer capable of delivering increasingly persistent and low-latency monitoring of the Earth.

Because OroraTech’s payloads continuously collect thermal data, the same infrastructure can simultaneously support multiple customers and applications – from wildfire and critical infrastructure monitoring to maritime awareness, environmental intelligence, and security applications. Each additional payload therefore increases the value of the overall network rather than serving a single customer or geography.
